Last-minute: EFD in Frankreich

“We are searching for a sporty volonteer at the age between 18 and 25 years for december 2009 for a period of about 12 months (or less).
Co-animation within the office of USEP (this is the sports federation of public elementary schools in the department of Cotes d'Armor at Saint Brieuc)

The young volunteer will be charged of three missions:

1 - A MISSION OF CO-ANIMATION DURING:

a) Sporting events organised by the service:
The role of the volunteer will be to:

  • Acquire competencies with children and with physical and sporting activities.
  • Adapt into an animation team composed of a teacher and sports professionals' supervisory staff.
  • Take active part in the realisation and animation of sports workshops for children.
  • To allow the children during the sports workshops to learn the differences between the French practice of sport culture, and the ones of the home country of the volunteer.

b) Help in the logistic and technical preparation of sporting events:

The role of the volunteer will be to:

  • Help in the development of planning sporting events
  • Take part in the relations between the USEP and its members (via e-mail, telephone)
  • Offer her/his competences and personal culture for the enrichment of the professional mentality of the staff.

2 - EXECUTION AND FOLLOW-UP OF A PROJECT:

The role of the volunteer will be to:

  • Do the execution and follow-up of a series of school sporting events
  • Inform the members (schools) of the plans and actions of the USEP
  • Learn to work in a group being "the boss" of a project (prepare and animate meetings)

3 -PARTICIPATION IN EUROPEAN ENCOUNTERS:

The role of the volunteer will be, if (s)he decides so, to integrate the team of the International Relations- Europe during the international exchanges, the European workcamps or the E.V.S. sessions if it matches with the plans of the USEP.
The aim is to animate and help in the organisation of everyday life.

We have no specific criteria for the selection. However, relational competence and the ability to work in a team will be considered as a must-have skill. We might give the young volunteer the opportunity to achieve a basic BAFA training (Brevet d'Aptitude aux Fonctions d'Animateur - certificate of aptitude in the functions of youth leader) in the beginning of the E.V.S., to allow him/her to understand better the specificities of the work of youth exchange leaders. For this, we have to require a certain level of knowledge of the French language. This theoretical training will be helpful during international actions.

The volunteer will profit from training within the framework of their implication in the internal life of the association (service meetings, trainings, informal time with volunteers of the associations). It is as many nonformal activities facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and aptitudes by the volunteers, which help their personal growing.

The possibility of preparing a personal project:

When the young volunteer gained real competences in the following fields:

  • good command of French
  • different administrative technical skills (in organisation, finance, relations etc)
  • co-animation of international or sporting events

If they decide so, the FOL 22 allows the volunteer to realise a personal project - for example a youth exchange supported by the OFAJ or the EU, or any other project that seems feasible - during their E.V.S.

Schedule of the  volunteer:
The working hours of the FOL are, from Monday to Friday, 9 h - 12 h and 14 h - 18 h, altogether 35 hours a week.

During special events and stays, the young volunteer will accompany the team outside the ordinary working hours (in the evening and on weekends).
This overtime work can be caught up, according to the will of the volunteer, in half-days, days or a week.

If you are interested thank you for sending a motivation letter and a CV in french at:
international@fol22.com
We are looking forward to get to know you."
